New look Kenya Cup kicks off this weekend

Nairobi - The 2015/16 Kenya Cup season kicks off on Saturday at various venues around the country. 

This year's tournament takes a different approach from recent seasons, the 14 teams split into two pools of 7 teams each, playing home and away fixtures within the pools as well as a cross over fixture with teams from the other pool.

Defending champions KCB are in Pool A with Pan Africa Strathmore Leos, Mwamba, Menengai Cream Homeboyz, Western Bulls, Mean Machine and Thika RFC while Pool B features last year's runners up Kabras Sugar,Top Fry Nakuru, Resolution Impala Saracens, Total Nondies, Kenya Harlequin, Blak Blad and Kenya Sharks. 

Saturday's fixtures
Pool A: Pan Africa Strathmore Leos v Mean Machine 2.00pm,Impala Club - Live on Zuku Sports
Pool B: Resolution Impala Saracens v Kenya Harlequin 4.00pm,Impala Club - Live on Zuku Sports
Pool A: Mwamba v Western Bulls, 4.00pm, Railway Club
Pool B: Kabras Sugar v Kenya Sharks 4.00pm, Kakamega Showground
Pool A: KCB v Thika 4.00pm, USIU
Pool B: Top Fry Nakuru v Blak Blad, 4.00pm, Nakuru Athletic Club

The Eric Shirley Shield also kicks off this weekend while the Nationwide league continues across the country.
