National boxing team pleads for funding

Nairobi - As the Olympic trials approach in Cameroon next month, the Kenyan
national boxing team has had to start their training on a non
residential site at the Police Depot in Nairobi after failing to get
funds from the government.
The Boxing Association's President, John Kameta, expressed his
disappointment at the government especially since all their possible
sponsors thinking they were going to get KES 20 million from the
government as promised.
He told the-star.co.ke: "This is a very unfortunate situation because
I can’t even get money from other corporates or individuals as they
already believe we have sponsors for boxing,".
