Kenya Sevens slip up against Australia

Nairobi - The Kenya Sevens team succumbed to a narrow defeat against Australia in their opening match at the Dubai 7s on Friday.
Kenya held a
comprehensive lead and a numerical advantage at one point, but allowed
the Wallabies to claw themselves back into the Group B encounter and
steal victory in the dying minutes of the clash.
The Simba's opened a
7-0 lead in the first period of the match when Augustine Lugonzo touched
down and Biko Adema added the extras from the kicking tee.
Frank Wanyama then put
Kenya 12-0 ahead when he crossed the whitewash for a second try, but
Adema missed with his conversion attempt.
That miss would go on
to prove costly in what remained of the match, even though Henry Speight
was subsequently sin binned for an infraction.
Tom Cusack narrowed the
deficit for Australia when he powered over the try line and James
Stannard brought the Wallabies within five points when he nailed the
Pama Fou eventually
leveled the scores with his side's second try and Stannard made no
mistake with his attempt at poles to hand Australia a 14-12 win.
