Ayimba names Kenya Sevens' Olympic training squad

Nairobi - Kenya Sevens head coach Benjamin Ayimba has named an 18-man training squad to prepare for the Sevens tournament at August's Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Sammy Oliech, Nelson Oyoo and Frank Wanyama, who broke through the ranks to feature prominently during the recently concluded 2015/16 IRB Sevens World Series, make the training squad alongside Kabras Sugar’s Brian Tanga.

Bush Mwale, Oscar Ouma and Biko Adema who missed the final rounds of the series as they recovered from various injuries also make the 18 as do regulars Andrew Amonde and record-try scorer Collins Injera.The squad will be whittled down to the final 12-man travelling party closer to the games.Kenya are coming off a successful IRB Sevens World Series during which they won their maiden Cup event in Singapore in April and finished seventh in the overall standings.
