Nairobi - Preparations for this weekend’s Safaricom Sevens Series after confirmation of the matches will be televised.
The Prinsloo Sevens will be held in Nakuru.
“The fourth round of the Safaricom Sevens Series, the Top Fry Prinsloo Sevens will be broadcast live on August 30/31 2014 by the Kenya Rugby Union’s official broadcast partner Zuku,” read a statement from the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU).
The event will be the fourth round of the Safaricom Sevens Series.
The Prinsloo Sevens takes place at the Nakuru Athletic Club in Nakuru and is played in honor of Pete Walter Prinsloo, a rugby enthusiast of South African origin.
He is credited to revamping the game in Nakuru in the 1980s.
He died from diabetes complications, eventually confined to a wheelchair but this did not stop his enthusiasm and love for the game.
“This year's event is the eighth edition in honor of his efforts and following a very successful premier in October 2007, there should be a lot of fireworks as the Safaricom Sevens Series heads into the home stretch with the Prinsloo Sevens,” KRU stated.
