Wafula wins Kenya open golf title

Nairobi - The
top-ranked female golfer in the country, Naomi Wafula, won the Kenya
Ladies Open Strokeplay golf championship title at Royal Nairobi Golf
Club this past weekend.
The 16-year-old, who plays off a three handicap, triumphed over more than a 100 golfers representing 17 countries.
The youngster carded rounds of 77 and 75 to finish the two-day championship on a score of 152.
The Silver division was won by Zambia's Melisa Nawa, who plays off a one handicap, after rounds of 76 and 77.
Kenya’s Josephine Ainley was fifth on 157, while Rachna Patel won the
Silver division title with a score of 142 ahead of Sarah Otolo and
Uganda’s Jenina Nasimolo.
Gathigia Gatere won the Bronze Division Gross title when she beat
Wanja Kimani of Royal on countback after both players finish on 192.
Mary Monari won the junior gross title after the Rose Naliaka Academy student finish on 159.
