Wacu to realise dream in France

Nairobi - Volleyball star Jane Wacu will achieve a lifelong ambition
this weekend when she heads to France to play professionally.
The Kenya women's volleyball player had trials with Rue Des
Platanes, Hernes and Chamalieres earlier this year, but she has settled on the
latter and will be teaming up with her team-mates ahead of the new season,
which kicks off in September.
"This is a dream come true because I have always wanted
to play professional volleyball. I am happy to join Chamalieres but I wouldn’t
have minded joining the three other clubs," she told the-star.co.ke.
"I am glad I impressed them (Chamalieres). This is a
sign of good things to come not only for me but also the upcoming players. This
is an opportunity of my life time and I will do my best to prove to them that
they made the right choice."
Despite signing a "very good" contract with the
French club, Wacu vowed that she won't turn her back on the national team.
"I will play for the side for one year and they are
giving me a good offer which I can’t turn down," she said.
"Like any other player who is playing professional
sport outside the country, I am still a Kenyan and I will always avail myself
for national duties if called upon."
