Nairobi - Kenya Sevens team coach Paul True says there are still
places up for grabs ahead of the start of the HSBC Sevens World Series.
Treu recently called up Kenya Commercial Bank play-maker Ken
Moseti and Nakuru RFC’s lock Martin Owila, and will be present at the
Driftwoods Sevens in Mombasa this weekend hunting for more talent.
“We are traveling down to the coast to see more players,”
Treu told the Star.
“We were in Kisumu a fortnight ago and we want to add to our
player base in the national team and I expect competition for places to be
quite stiff in the next six weeks.”
True added that Moseti and Owila could both succeed for the
“Moseti has been instrumental for KCB, winning two
tournaments. He is good distributor and an excellent defender and we will want
to put him in the Sevens environment to see how he matches up with the others,”
“We observed him (Owila) during the Rugby World Cup
qualifiers in Madagascar and we have continued to follow his progress at Nakuru
RFC and he fits into the profile of the Sevens players.”
