Nairobi - Top Fry Nakuru stay top of Kenya Cup league standings after winning
their ninth match of the season, a 19-8 win over Total Nondies, an
interesting result in that the champions failed to collect a bonus for
the first time this season.
They have gathered 44 points and at this
point in time no one can dispute the fact that they will definitely be
part of the semi final playoff quartet when the round robin stage draws
to a close.
KCB now lie in second place after
registering a 24-22 bonus point win over Mwamba RFC. The bankers boast
an 8-1 record and with 38 points, are a sure bet for the league semi
Strathmore Leos swapped places with KCB
as they failed to garner a bonus point in their 20-10 weekend victory
over Quins. They lie third with 37 points despite boasting an identical
win-loss record with the bankers after a similar number of outings.
Lunch Bar Quins have 32 points from six
wins and two losses which places them fourth on the log. They have a
game in hand over the top three. Homeboyz RFC blitzed Eldoret 84-6 to
claw their way into fifth place with 26 points and with an outside
chance of making the playoffs with four rounds still to play.They are
the biggest climbers, having risen two places from seventh.
Also climbing up the log is Western
Bulls who are now placed seventh with 23 points after demolishing Kisumu
51-3. They are just one point behind sixth placed Nondies (25 points).
Mwamba, after a promising start to this
season's campaign have dropped to the lower half of the table, lying
eighth on 22 points and will have to dream of the playoffs next season.
Blak Blad (15 points), Impala (13 points), Mombasa (13 points), Mean
Machine (12 points), Eldoret RFC (3 points) and Kisumu RFC ( -6 points)
round off the league standings.
