Snow makes first foreign cut

17 July 2014, 18:15

Nairobi - Greg Snow, one of Kenya’s leading professional golfers made his first Challenge Tour cut outside the country.

Snow excelled at the Barclays Kenya Open at Karen in March where he finished in 10th place and despite making a slow start the Slovakia Challenge at Penati Golf Resort in Senece, he managed to pull through when it mattered most.

After carding two-over-par 74 in the first round, he produced an impressive five-under 67 in the second round to make the cut which was set at two-under.

Snow would go on to card a 70 and a 71 for six-under-par total to secure a tie for 44th place.

He earned 800 euros and a chance for an entry to this week's Swiss Open in Switzerland .

“I started badly but managed to recover in the second round which earned me a place in the final two rounds,’’ Snow told Daily Nation.

The Slavia Open eventual winner was Scotland's Andrew McArthur who finished 21-under-par 267.
