Ruto calls for WRC return

05 July 2013, 18:04

Nairobi - As the 2013 KCB Safari Rally got off to a ceremonial start on Friday morning in Nairobi, Deputy President, William Ruto, called for the return of the World Rally Championship (WRC) to Kenya.

Capital News reports that Ruto made his comments as he flagged off the first 10 machines in the Main Class competition as they returned to the Parc Femme at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) ahead of the proper start of the 61st edition of the epic event at 1 pm.

During his address, Ruto said that if the motor sports federation, the ministry responsible for sports and stakeholders came together, the Jubilee Government would work with them to get back the World Rally Championship to Kenya.
