Nairobi - Preparations for this weekend’s International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Half Marathon Championships scheduled for Copenhagen, Denmark are at an advanced stage.
The country’s athletics association has lined-up a strong team of men with traceable history in the long distance races ahead of the IAAF event.
Among these are Robert Chemosin, Cyprian Kotut, Simeon Cheprot and Kenneth Kipkemoi, who is the current African 10, 000 m title holder.
Also among the strong squad are Geoffrey Kamworor, former Berlin Half Marathon champion and former IAAF half marathon champion, Wilson Kiprop, who vowed to win all crucial titles for the East African nation.
The athletes are presently training in Eldoret and Iten where they are plotting the coup de'tat in the weekend's championships.
The athletes face a daunting task dethroning Eritrea's Zersenay Tadesse, the reigning champion.
