Rain stops Maseno's rugby onslaught

Nairobi - Heavy rain interrupted Maseno School and St Peter's Mumias' rugby
matches on Tuesday with both teams calling it a day shortly after
half-time break during this year's Brookside East Africa Secondary
school games at the Dar es Salam University.
Maseno, who have now qualified for the semi-finals after registering
two wins, were already up 62-0 when play was halted five minutes after
the break in their match against Morogoro Secondary from.
Albert Obura, Brian Juma, Anthony Jeremy and Fanuel Aduda were star players on the day.
Maseno had beaten St Famillie from Rwanda 27-0 in the opening match at the same venue on Monday.
"We are taking precautions because we know the tournament proper
starts tomorrow against St Mumias," coach Gilbert Onyango told
"It's been a good start even though we had weak opponents. We are
happy with the progress so far," Maseno coach Gilbert Onyango said after
yesterday’s encounter. Kenyan champions St Peter’s also needed 41
minutes to see off Morogoro 63-0.
