Peroni claim Nairobi Polo trophy

Nairobi - Peroni won the Division A Horseman Trophy title at the Samsung Galaxy
Nairobi Polo tournament on Sunday after beating Keringet 5-4.5 in a
Martin Kaiser was the star of the show for the eventual winners of
the three-day event – which took place at the Nairobi Polo Club – having
hit the target in each of Peroni’s chukkas on the final day.
Although the result remained in the balance for most of the match,
Peroni were in control of their fate for the majority as Kaiser, Tiva
Gross, Chris Foot and Ruth Horsey dictated terms.
“We played well. I’m glad I linked well with my team mates. Our good
marking helped us beat a good side,” the 38-year-old Kaiser, who
competed on a horse imported from South Africa, said after the event.
The second goal he scored on the day was a 30-yard penalty after umpire Mbu Ngugi ruled that Horsey was infringed.
