Okwara terms concludes on Saturday

11 July 2014, 16:49

Nairobi - The Kenya Golf Union (KGU) chairman Francis Okwara will conclude his term of office at the traditional Chairman's Prize golf tournament which will take place at the Royal Nairobi Golf Club on Saturday.

At least 200 amateur golfers including some of the country's national team players Nelson Simwa, Justus Madoya, Tony Omuli, Alfred Nandwa, Jay Sandhu, Steve Karanja and Robinson Owiti will compete while several as well past KGU chairmen will be in attendance as they honour the outgoing chairman.

Okwara served the Union first as the treasurer in 2010 and 2011 before becoming the vice chairman in 2012 and chairman in 2013.

"The support for the game of golf has always been strong in Kenya and the 2013 KGU Chairman's Prize Event is a wonderful opportunity for all golfers to come together as we enjoy a weekend full of golf extravaganza,” Okwara told nation.ke.
