Odour back from injury

13 August 2014, 19:32

Nairobi - Kenyan international volleyball player Ibrahim Odour is set to return to action next week after almost a year out with injury.

Odouri injured himself in the national team's FIVB men’s World Championship second round Zone H qualifying match against Rwanda last year.

He could make his return in his club’s next match in the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) National League next weekend.

“I have been out in the cold for at least 10 months—strictly following my doctor’s advises and I am glad I am back in action,” he told The Star.

“I am back in the team training and I hope to be in good shape ahead of the next league matches. I hope to pick from where I left and hopefully, with the rest of the team, I am sure we can post good results.”.

Odour, who joined the Prisons volleyball team in 2007, has missed the first three matches of the current National League season.

Gideon Chenje, Prisons coach, says Odour has been missed and expects him to make an immediate impact.

“We are in the mid season of KVF league and his presence will surely be felt in our next matches in Nanyuki,” he said.
