Namcos a surprise inclusion for Impala

05 September 2014, 19:48

Nairobi - Innocent "Namcos" Simiyu has been named in the Resolution Impala Saracens squad for the final leg of the National Sevens Series, the Cristie Sevens, taking place at Nairobi’s RFUEA Grounds this weekend.

Namcos is a former international sevens star for Kenya, but has been out of action since suffering a injury during the 2011 Bamburi Rugby Super Series.

Impala, who are in Pool A alongside KCB, Homeboyz and JKUAT, have also handed Robert Aringo his first call up.

Elsewhere, Mwama playmaker Lavin Asego has been included in their squad, having been in good form for the last two legs of the series.

Collins Injera, George Mbaye, Dennis Ombachi and Mike Agevi are also in the line-up.

KCB, meanwhile, welcome Andrew Amonde back into their squad. The national sevens skipper last featured at the Driftwood Sevens, where his side lost the final to Homeboyz.

The bankers currently lead the series and are strong favourites to retain the title at the end of the weekend's action.
