Nairobi - The Nairobi Water Queens handball club has arrived in Tunisia ahead of the 36th African Clubs championships.
The Kenyan champions will start their campaign against Etoile club
from the Democratic Republic of Congo before taking on Angolan champions
Premero De Agosto club in their second match of the championship.
Although the team faces stern challenges at the tournament, head
coach Jack Sandan insisted that his side can rise to the challenge.
"These are the best clubs in the continent but we are not afraid of them,” he told Standard Digital.
"If we convincingly win one match in our pool, we will definitely be
in the quarterfinals. We want to take one match at a time,” he added.

Since the late withdrawal of TKCY of Cameroon and US Nouasser of
Morocco from the championship, Progreso of Angola was moved to group B.
Group A comprise all-time defending champions Petro Athletico of
Angola, Africa Sport from Ivory Coast, FAP of Cameroon, HC Nuru and
Mikishi, both of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
"The inclusion of two key players in the team, Brenda Aliviza and
Alice Olwande will boost the squad. We do not have any other choice but
record just one win match in the championship," added Sandan. For the latest on national news, politics, sport, entertainment and more follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page!
