Mombasa set to host Driftwood sevens

Nairobi - Mombasa hosts the third leg of the 2014 Safaricom Sevens Series, the Safaricom Driftwood Sevens on August 23/24 with series champions KCB hoping to win their third successive tournament.

This after they claimed back-to-back victories at the Kabeberi Sevens in Nairobi on 3 August and the Dala Sevens in Kisumu on 10 August.

KCB, who incidentally are the defending Driftwood Sevens champions, face 2013 series runners up Lunch Bar Quins in Pool A alongside Catholic Monks  and KCA. Quins, are expected to push them all the way in the quest for pole position and cup quarter final qualification from the pool.

The bankers will also face stiff competition from Homeboyz RFC, who are currently trailing them by eight points point at the top of the series standings. The deejays are in the same pool as Total Nondies, Kisumu and Thika.

Pool C comprises of Dala semi-finalists Top Fry Nakuru,Western Bulls, Mwamba and Blak Blad while in Pool D, Resolution Impala Saracens will do battle with Pan Africa Strathmore Leos, Egerton Wasps and Kabras.
