Nairobi - The Eldoret County government has revealed that it will cost over KES 300 million to complete of the Kipchoge Stadium.
KES 150 million has already been spent on the stadium, but only the
football pitch and part of a perimeter fence has been refurbished.
Jackson Mandago, Eldoret’s Governor, told the Star that the national government is responsible for funding the stadium repairs.
“We have asked the Ministry of Sports to provide the money to complete the stadium this year,” he said.

Hassan Wario, cabinet secretary for sports, has reportedly visited the stadium twice and promised to ensure its completion.
A group of elite level athletes from the area, including Chicago
Marathon winner Rita Cheptoo, recently presented Mandago with a petition
demanding that the stadium be completed.
Cheptoo said that not being able to access the stadium has interrupted her training, especially during winter months.
