MPs commit to running Nairobi Marathon

Nairobi - Deputy Minority Leader Jakoyo Midiwo and several other members of the
National Assembly registering for this year's Standard Chartered Nairobi
The MPs made the commitment to the event at the Parliament Buildings
on Thursday and Midiwo was joined by Nandi Hills Member of Parliament
Alfred Keter, Bungoma MP Dan Wanyama and MP for Ndhiwa constituency
"We have always been committed to
this event because of the worthy cause, and this year will not be
different. I am very excited to be actively participating in the event
this year, and I believe we will contribute significantly in helping
more children regain their eye sight," Keter told the Daily Nation.

Keter, who will run in the half
marathon, will be part of the 200 members of both Houses and their
staff, who will compete in different categories of the marathon for
The MPs intend to raise KES 300, 000 to fund the "Seeing is Believing" initiative.
The marathon is scheduled to take
place on October 26 and the Bunge Team will use it in preparation for
the East Africa Parliamentary Games slated for December 7 to 17 in
