MPs commit to running Nairobi Marathon

17 October 2014, 17:18

Nairobi - Deputy Minority Leader Jakoyo Midiwo and several other members of the National Assembly registering for this year's Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon.

The MPs made the commitment to the event at the Parliament Buildings on Thursday and Midiwo was joined by Nandi Hills Member of Parliament Alfred Keter, Bungoma MP Dan Wanyama and MP for Ndhiwa constituency Augustinho Neto.

"We have always been committed to this event because of the worthy cause, and this year will not be different. I am very excited to be actively participating in the event this year, and I believe we will contribute significantly in helping more children regain their eye sight," Keter told the Daily Nation.

The marathon is scheduled to take place on October 26 and the Bunge Team will use it in preparation for the East Africa Parliamentary Games slated for December 7 to 17 in Arusha, Tanzania.
