Local pair to officiate at Zim rugby festival

30 April 2014, 10:22

Nairobi - The Rugby Union (KRU) has announced the appointment of two of the country’s rugby officials to officiate in Zimbabwe’s National Schools Rugby festival scheduled for next week in Harare.

The two, Wycliffe Matati and Moses Ndung’u, will be officiating in this year’s edition of the Dairibord National Schools Rugby festival, which was previously called the Cottco Cup.

“Kenyan match officials Wycliffe Matati and Moses Ndung'u will be on duty at the 2014 edition of the Dairibord National Schools Rugby Festival, previously called the Cottco Cup which takes place from 5-10 May at the Prince Edward School in Harare, Zimbabwe,” read a statement from KRU.

The announcement comes a few weeks after another Kenyan was appointed to serve as Citing Commissioner for three test fixtures in South Africa.  Former Kenyan international, James Absaloms, will be officiating at events scheduled for Durban, Nelspruit and Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
