Kiplagat targets Chicago marathon

Nairobi - Florence Kiplagat is confident of a victory at the Chicago Marathon this
weekend, four years after she withdrew from her debut on American soil
due to injury.
Kiplagat entered the Boston Marathon in 2010 and reached the 30km
mark in a strong time of 1:42:59, but was forced to withdraw from the

Speaking to the media following a training session in Eldoret, the
Half Marathon record holder is confident of performing at her best in
"I am ready. The training has gone on well. I have tested myself in
different races and circumstances and have come out good. But running
the real marathon is different," the 27-year-old said.
"I want to run a fast race. The world record is way far beyond me for now. But it is something that I plan to attack very soon.
"I want to see how fast I can go. Depending on the weather, running in Chicago will be fun."
