Kenyan official to take charge at Junior rugby world cup

05 February 2014, 14:37

Nairobi - Victor Oduor will be on the match officials panel when the 2014 IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy is held from 7-14 April 2014 in Hong Kong.

This was announced by IRB General Manager for Africa, Jean-Luc Barthes at the ongoing IRB Leading Rugby seminar in Cape Town, South Africa.

Oduor earned the right to officiate in Hong Kong after being ranked first in an IRB/CAR U-25 referees training programme at the Maties Referee's Academy in Stellenbosch in August last year.

The Junior World Rugby Trophy is the second level of the IRB tournament structure for under-20 national sides, second in the pecking order to the IRB Junior World Cup.

Besides the JWRT, Oduor will also officiate at the Youth Commonwealth Games rugby sevens tournament in March in Gaberone, Botswana.
