Kenyan boxers to gain financial help

Nairobi - The Kenya Professional Boxing Commission (KCPB) are putting plans together to cater financially for Kenya's boxers.
"We want to ensure we have sustainable
economic activities for the players, including starting a savings
society for them," said Hillary Alila, KPBC chairman.
"Income generation is of immediate
essence and we are harmonizing our calendar to see to it that there are
numerous bouts, though this will take time.
"The money is theirs, whatever the
amount and we cannot dictate how they use it. We can only help by
providing investment tips to help them start activities on the sidelines
that can be of help in critical situations.
"We get almost zero per cent support
from the government but this song must end. We want to get our own ways
of sorting out our problems."
