Kenya win Bowl title in Las Vegas

16 February 2015, 13:55

Nairobi - Kenya won the Bowl title at this weekend's HSBC Sevens World Series after beating Argentina 24-21 at the Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas.

Bush Mwale was the first to cross the for the Kenyans, but Santiago Alvarez leveled proceedings shortly afterwards as the sides went into the half time break locked at 7-all.

Leonard Mugaisi came from the substitutes bench in the second half and scored two tries as Felix Ochieng’s charges went 19-7 up.

Mwale then completed his brace to put Kenya 24-7 up with only two minutes left to play.

However, Argentine bounced back with two quick tries of their own following Dennis Muhanji’s red card, but couldn’t complete another score as Kenya claimed eight points in Las Vegas.

The team is expected back in Nairobi on Wednesday morning.
