Kenya loses bid to host cricket championship
27 August 2014, 09:20
Nairobi - Kenya's bid to host the International Cricket Council's World Cricket League division two has proven unsuccessful.
The event, which will run from 17 to 24 January 2015, will instead be played in Namibia.
The tournament hosts will be joined by Canada, the Netherlands and Kenyans - and two teams promoted from division three.
The ICC, meanwhile, have confirmed the third division will take place
in Uganda - despite security concerns raised by the United States of
America Cricket Association.
The winner and runners-up of division two will graduate to the next
edition of the World Cricket League Championship competition for
associates nations - and the ICC Intercontinental Cup.
