Kenya joins Egypt in volleyball world qualifying final phase

Nairobi- Kenya, Egypt and Rwanda made the final phase of the men's volleyball Africa World Championship qualifications after emerging top in the regional qualifying tournament in Kigali, Rwanda on Sunday.
Egypt won gold as Rwanda and Kenya claimed silver and bronze respectively at the final day of the Federation of International Volleyball (FIVB) World Championship Zone Five group Q qualifiers.
Rwanda defeated Uganda (25-18, 25-23, 25-19), while Kenya saw off resistant Burundi 3-0 (25-23, 31-29, 25-20).
Already Cameroon, Tunisia, Algeria, Botswana, Seychelles, Nigeria, Zambia, Congo Brazzaville,Cape Verde, Senegal, Gabon and Niger have booked their tickets to the final qualifiers next year.
This will be the final event prior to determining the three African tickets to the FIVB Men's World Championship to be held in Poland in September.
Egypt finished on top of the five-nation tournament with win-loss ratio of 4-0 as they already secured a final phase berth as one of the top three African teams in the FIVB ranking.
Rwanda won the silver medal with 3-1 win-loss record and Kenya came third with 2-2. Rwanda and Kenya will proceed to the final phase.
