Kenya claims first gold medal at the IAAF WC

Moscow - Edna Ngeringwony Kiplagat claimed the first gold medal at the 2013 IAAF World Championship in Moscow on Saturday as she won the women's marathon in 2:25.44.

The 33-year-old Kiplagat, who led home a clean Kenyan podium sweep in Daegu, made history as the first woman ever to land back-to-back marathon titles in world championships.
