Kenya claim volleyball title again

Nairobi - Kenya's women's volleyball team thrashed Algeria in straight sets to win
the Africa Nations Championships title at the Safaricom Indoor Arena in
Nairobi on Saturday.
The 25-17, 25-21, 25-18 victory means that Kenya finished the
tournament unbeaten and qualify for the FIVB World Cup for the third
Kenya have now won the Africa Nations Championships nine times, more than any other team on the continent.
The final was played out in front of a crowd believed to exceed the 5000 Safaricom Indoor Arena capacity by at least 2000.
Kenya dominated the tournament, and also claimed most of the spoils in the post-tournament individual awards ceremony.
Everlyne Makuto was voted the tournament's most valuable player
(MVP), Janet Wanja took the best setter award, Ruth Jepngetich claimed
best blocker and Elizabeth Wanyama was announced as best libero.
