KPA face USIU in Fiba women's final

01 September 2014, 11:31

Nairobi - The final of the Fiba Africa Zone Five Club Basketball Championships will be an all-Kenya event after two local sides triumphed in the semi-finals.

Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) will face off against United States International University (USIU), with glory and a spot in the Africa Women Basketball Club Championships in Tunis, Tunisia in November at stake.

Anthony Ojukwu, KPA coach, told the Daily Nation that he knows the opposition well.

“Our opponent’s players are speedy but we’ll use our experience to turn tables against them,” said Ojukwu

KPA qualified for the for the final thanks to a 61-48 win over Berco Stars of Burundi, while USIU beat Uganda’s KCCA 74-48.

George Mayenga, USIU coach, refused to speculate about the outcome of the final.

“I don’t want to say about the clash. Let’s finish the final,” he said.

The final will take place at the KPA Makande Gymnasium in Mombasa on Sunday.
