KCB win Kabeberi, eye Dala Sevens

Nairobi - KCB won the opening leg of the Safaricom Sevens Series, the Kabeberi Sevens after posting a 24-0 final result over a young Lunch Bar Quins side.

They signalled their intent early on when Oliver Mang'eni barged over with Ken Moseti converting for a 7-0 lead. They increased their lead when Darwin Mukidza played in Moseti who grounded to take the score to 12-0, a lead that they took into the break.

Quins would come back into the second half looking to cut the deficit but were caught cold when Mang'eni landed his brace, second half substitute Essau Otieno converting to put the bankers 19-0 up. With virtuallu the final play, and after sustained pressure, Mike Omondi sealed it for KCB, his try sealing the result.

Outgoing champions Homeboyz beat Strathmore 21-12 to claim third place.Impala Saracens survived a scare to beat Catholic 21-19 and lift the plate title.

Action shifts to the second round of the series, the Dala Sevens this weekend in Kisumu City.
