Nairobi - Organisers of the Baringo Half Marathon expect more than 2,000
athletes to participate in this weekend's 21km race.
Registration for the race remain open at various centres throughout
the area, but race organisers have warned that once registration closes,
no late entries will be allowed.
The race will start at Kureschun and the course will take athletes
through Kabartonjo, Kabarnet and Ebenezer before reaching the finish
line in Kabarnet town.

Apart from the a Sh300,000 first prize, sponsors ABC bank will also
award cash prizes to the other top finishers and offer promising
athletes a mentorship programme.
"We will have a selection committee to pick deserving athletes and
nurture their talent. The selection will not only be limited to the race
on Saturday alone, but will be a continuous process that ensures
consistency among the runners selected," Organising committee chief
Barnabas Kitilit said.
"The reason being that selection based on one event alone may not
reflect the true shape of the athletes selected and may also be unfair
to those who had one bad race." For the latest on national news, politics, sport, entertainment and more follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page!
