Nairobi - The Kenya Airways sponsored East Africa Classic Rally will come to a close Friday with the leaders still jostling for positions atop the podium.
The rally enters day eight today as the crews start the journey back to Mombasa where it all started over a week ago.
The leadership still belongs to Swede Stig Blomqvist who has a one minute lead over Kenya's Ian Duncan who is in second place and Belgian Gerard Marcy who is a further 30 seconds behind.
The other Kenyan crews within touching distance of the top are David Horsey in fifth and Baldev Chager in sixth place.
The race will officially end Friday where Duncan will be hoping to cut the gap and if possible go past Blomqvist.
Thursday will see three stages, first of which is a 50 km re-run in the opposite direction through the Meyer’s farm section and a 70 km section out from Isinya to the Mombasa road. The final section of the day is another run though part of the Taita hills – this one a mere 30 km.
