Disappointing Kenya fall in Nambia

13 November 2013, 13:46

Windhoek - Kenya were let down by a poor first half display as they fell to a  29-14 loss to Zimbabwe in the second match of the Windhoek Draught Tri-Nations Rugby Series in Windhoek Namibia on Tuesday evening.

In an entertaining match, Zimbabwe strolled into a 26-0 lead at halftime, but Kenya staged a strong comeback in a much better second half display.

Fullback Tangai Nemadire scored two tries for Zimbabwe while fly-half Lenience Tambwera scored 19 points with a try, four penalties and a conversion.

Winger Cyprian Kuto and prop Isaiya Nyariki scored tries each for Kenya while fly-half Kenny Andolo added two conversions.

Kenya head coach Jerome Paarwater was disappointed with the first half display.

“We lost the match in a poor first half where we gifted them points after point and even though we played well in the second, it was difficult to catch-up, he said.

The final match of the Tri-Nations series takes place on Saturday when Kenya take on the hosts Namibia.
