Cycling, Jamaica, Kenya all on WADA agenda

12 November 2013, 16:13

Johannesburg - The World Anti-Doping Agency will seek to address some of the issues emanating from the Lance Armstrong scandal and make progress on serious questions over drug testing procedures in Jamaica and Kenya at its conference this week.

The most important gathering for anti-doping authorities opens on Tuesday in Johannesburg with WADA's executive committee meeting. The conference's main business is a review of the international anti-doping code that will likely take on lessons from the Armstrong case.

WADA's board is also expected to examine the report from its inspection visit to Jamaica last month, an audit of the country's anti-doping process after revelations of a near complete breakdown in its testing leading up to the London Olympics.

Kenya has caused concern after a recent spike in positive tests for its athletes.
