Country dominates karate championships

Nairobi - Kenya claimed an overall victory at the East African Karate
Championship this weekend after winning all but one of medals available.
Isaack Wambua starred for Kenya, taking gold in the in the
60kg senior kata division. He told the Sunday Nation it was the result of hard
“I put into practice all the moves that I learnt through the
week in training and indeed they came in handy as they helped me beat all my
opponents,” he said.
“I want to build on this victory going into the next event.”
Kenya took a all the medals available in the category, with
Erick Karisa and Ronaldo Kimani winning silver and gold respectively.
Vitalis Kemoi ensured Kenya claimed gold in the kumite,
while Ugandan Hassan Dugga took second and Kimani won his second medal by
