Nairobi - The past few weeks have been a dream come true for Ese
Brume, but the teenager is looking to reach new heights in the next few weeks.
The 18-year-old won gold in the women's long jump at the
2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow with a leap of 6.56m and then she followed
it up with more glory at the African Senior Athletics Championship in
Marrakech, Morocco, with a jump of 6.50m.
Next up is the second edition of the IAAF Continental Cup,
which will also take place in Morocco in September, and Brume is not resting on
her laurels as she is ready to get back to training.
"I returned from Morocco on Thursday and headed to
Benin City immediately because my coach gave me only two days to relax,"
she told The Guardian.
"I will commence training tomorrow (Wednesday) at the
University of Benin Sports Complex. I know that it will be a tougher challenge
competing at the World stage, but I hope to do my best."
