Bad start for Kenyan teams in Hockey championships

Nairobi - Both Kenyan national hockey teams feel to defeat in their opening matches of the African Hockey Championships in Nairobi on Monday.
The men's outfit wasted a number of scoring opportunities to go down 3-2 to Egypt in the opening match of the competition while the ladies outfit also tasted defeat, falling 3-1 to reigning champions South Africa.
Both sides will rue missed opportunities that could have made the matches closer but will also reflect on what could have been on a humid day at the Nairobi City Park Stadium.
President of the African Hockey Federation Ahmed Shaif was present at the opening ceremony.
In other matches of the day, South Africa take on Ghana in the other men's match with Ghana and Tanzania facing off in the final match of the day in the women's section.
