Nairobi - Kenya's long distance runner and world's 1 500m bronze medallist, Hellen Obiri is set to represent the country at International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) at Nassau in Bahamas on Saturday.
Among the star-studied athletes destined for the IAAF will be Boniface Mucheru, who won in the sprinter races at Safaricom Stadium at the 35th Kenya Defence Forces Athletics championships last week.
The eagerly-awaited IAAF kicks-off on Saturday and ends on Sunday, 25th May in Bahamas.
Also expected to compete at the IAAF is the world half marathon champion Gladys Cherono, who will be the toast of the tournament for Kenya.
The trio won medals last week as they prepare to take the world on once more and clinch gold medals in 800m and 1 500m events while Mucheru collected three medals in 400m, 400m hurdles as well as the team's 4x400m while Cherono convincingly won both the 5 00m and 10 000m titles.
"My focus now is on Bahamas where I believe we have a very strong team to not only win the gold but bring home a new record," said Obiri.
