African Hockey championships take a break

Nairobi - The African Hockey championships took a one day break Wednesday after two days of pulsating action.

So far it has been a roller coaster ridse for the South African men's team which has won its two games in the championships over Ghana and Egypt.

They have already booked their place in the final and will await one of Kenya and Egypt to join them.

As for the women's it is still open between Kenya, South Africa and Ghana as all have a chance of making it to the final.

Kenya will take on Ghana in the final game on Thursday to decide who makes it to the final with the South Africans expected to see off Tanzania and book their place in the final.

Friday will be the third place playoff day with the gold medal matche set for Saturday.

Thursday fixtures (Points in brackets)

Women: South Africa (4) vs Tanzania (0), Kenya (3) vs Ghana (4)

Men: Kenya (3) vs South Africa (6), Ghana (0) Vs Egypt (3)
