Nairobi - Techno Brain, an international technology firm, has ventured into software solutions for mining companies due to the recent discovery of minerals and oil in Kenya.
Baris Vural, Africa Sales Director said the company was now offering geospatial information (GIS) systems which could be used for improving productivity, credibility and profitability.
Mining, he said, was one of the fields in which GIS could be customized for.
“The application which was launched in 2011 is set to grow popular with mining companies in Kenya owing to the discovery of different minerals in Kenya,” said Vural.
GIS has been wholly developed by the recently CMMI Level 3-appraised Kenya Research and Development Centre Techno Brain owns and is and located in Nairobi.
The centre boasts of 150 developers who have 11 products to their name which have been sold to clients within Africa and the Middle East.. Vural said that the centre was working towards a CMMI Level 5 appraisal by 2014 which will make it the first such company in Kenya and Africa.
Techno Brain’s GIS applications can be used mainly at exploratory stages by mining companies.
Vural said Techno Brain’s GIS applications have been piloted along River Nile from Uganda to Egypt for exploratory purposes.
“We have partnered with SAP which offers financial management systems while we offer exploratory applications,” he said.
SAP is a world leader in enterprise software and software-related service with locations in more than 130 countries and have partnered with Techno Brain in product and solutions offerings in Africa.
Other companies that have partnered with Techno Brain include HP, IBM and Microsoft among others.
Techno Brain will be launching a web based human resource management system tomorrow as the ongoing Annual Business Conference 2013 comes to a close.
