Nokia sets up Nairobi office to boost east African sales

Nairobi - Technology firm Nokia Solutions and Networks (NSN), has said that the official it has appointed to drive its growth in Central East and West Africa (CEWA) will be based in Kenya.
Salvatore Maisano, will operate from Nairobi.
Known as Sal, he is responsible for overall sales and operations of NSN across the CEWA region.
Igor Leprince, Senior Vice President, MEA, NSN, confirmed Sal’s appointment.
"We welcome Sal to Africa. Sal is a senior leader in the ICT industry. With his strong track record in international sales and operations, I am confident that he will drive our ambitious plans across the CEWA region.”
Commenting on his appointment, Sal said, “I am delighted to take on this challenging role in the CEWA region. I look forward to strengthening NSN’s position as an industry leader in the region.”
Italian-born Sal joined Nokia in February 1999 from OTE/Marconi, where he was heading China and the Far East region, based out of Beijing.
