Nairobi - Hundreds of Kenya's budding developers and students from across the country are set to join their peers from across the African continent at the BlackBerry fresh series innovation dubbed 'BlackBerry Jam Sessions'.
BlackBerry Regional Managing Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Robert Bose, said the BlackBerry Jam series would be held in Nigeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Kenya, Ghana and South Africa between 14 June and 18 July.
Scheduled for several African countries, Bose said the events were aimed at providing new skills, support the development of locally, relevant content and give budding entrepreneurs more opportunities to reach BlackBerry customers around the world.
He said the events would provide attendees with the latest resources, training and best practices for creating BlackBerry 10 apps.
In March and April this year, successful BlackBerry Jam sessions in Botswana and South Africa drew over 260 passionate developers to learn all about creating apps for BlackBerry 10.
Bose understands that access to education and skills creates opportunities, so the company is pleased to announce more BlackBerry Jam events for budding entrepreneurs across the region.
"This is especially true in Africa, one of the fastest growing mobile markets in the world.
"We're excited to already see such a healthy ecosystem of BlackBerry 10 apps in Africa and the Middle East, and we look forward to seeing developers learn how to create even more compelling BlackBerry experiences in the months to come,” Bose said.
