Nairobi - New research released on Thursday has found that Kenya is the second most active country on social networking site Twitter in Africa, with 2,476,800 tweets posted in the fourth quarter of 2011.
According to Capital News, the study dubbed How Africa Tweets, analysed over 11.5 million geo-located Tweets across Africa and South Africa came up tops with 5,030,226 tweets in the same period.
Twitter's growth in Africa has been attributed to youth tweeting on mobile phones, with 60 percent Africa’s most active tweeps between the ages of 20 and 29.
