Dates, venue set for East Africa Com

Nairobi - More than 600 attendees are expected for this year’s East Africa Com, whose preparations have begun.
Informa, the United Kingdom-based organisers of the region’s prime communications event have confirmed the summit will be held on May 20 and 21 at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi.
According to organisers, the attendees will be drawn from the leading mobile and fixed-line operators and internet service providers (ISPs) in the region, as well as local and international over-the-top content (OTT) players and content providers, vendors, regulators and other stakeholders.
“East Africa Com 2014 is back for its 11th consecutive year. It is the region’s premier event for addressing the needs of the modern communications players. Encompassing the whole of region, East Africa Com is a must-attend for anyone who wants to break into or confirm their position in the Telecoms, Media & ICT Industry,” Informa stated.
Key topics that are set to be covered this year include Long Term Evolution, connectivity, cost-efficiency profitability, mobile money, applications among other subjects.
The last edition, also held in Nairobi, attracted 100 speakers and 300 attendees.
