What Luhyas are planning ahead of 2017 Presidential Election

Nairobi - Luhyas are in final stages of unveiling their Presidential candidate ahead of the 2017 general election.

COTU Secretary General, Francis Atwoli has already said talk are ongoing to choose a candidate who will face off with Jubilee and Cord flag bearers.

According to The Star, Atwoli will name their candidate of choice in March next year.

So far, Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetang’ula and Cyrus Jirongo have expressed interest in the Presidency.

President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to run for his second and final term, but it is not clear whether Raila Odinga will be running.

According to reports, CORD has already selected a five-member team to select a candidate who will run against Jubilee.

“We are all looking to have one common candidate who can unite us and unite the country under the CORD Coalition. That is the aim and we will seek to get the best possible candidate,” one of the team members told News24.
