Kisumu - Rowdy youths jeered at President Uhuru Kenyatta when he stopped over at Kondele to deliver a speech over the weekend.
The youths who were chanting the opposition Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) slogans were demanding to know how the disputed KES 140 billion Eurobond money was spent.
According to Daily Nation, they also complained about poor roads in the region.
In response, the president promised to tackle issues affecting the youth in the region, among them, reviving stalled National Youth Service (NYS) projects.
This was president Kenyatta's sixth visit to the opposition stronghold since taking office.

Kenyatta, who also presided over the official opening of the Seventh Day Adventist Church West Kenya Union Headquarters during the weekend visit, said political competition should not breed hatred.
This was not the first time for the president to receive hostile reception in opposition strongholds.
Youths in In Migori County recently threw shoes and plastic chairs at Kenyatta when he visited the area to launch an anti-malaria campaign.
