WATCH: DP Ruto's pilot assaults female cop

23 February 2016, 10:11 Pauline Nyumu

Nairobi - The Deputy President, William Ruto’s pilot has been captured on camera assaulting a female policewoman.

The pilot, allegedly of British descent, is seen disembarking from a helicopter that took the Deputy President to Nyandarua over the weekend, then grabbing the police woman’s swagger stick before pushing and slapping her.

A crowd of onlookers shriek, ordering him to stop but doing nothing to stop him.

According to sources, the policewoman reported the case to police but nothing was done.

However, following an outcry from Kenyans who have widely circulated the clip on social media, the Inspector General has issued a statement directing the pilot to surrender to police.

The statement, which was issued Tuesday morning, reads in part: “Following the unfortunate incident that took place in Ndunyu Njeru in Nyandarua, last Sunday 21st February 2016…the suspect has subsequently been ordered to surrender to any nearest police station.”

Angered Kenyans have taken to twitter to condemn the incident, calling for the deportation of the pilot.
