Kirinyaga - Several people were left nursing injuries following a fight between the Kirinyaga County boss, Joseph Ndathi and one of his county assembly members (MCA) Tuesday.
The incident took place at Nguka village in Mwea constituency where the Governor had convened a meeting.
Trouble started when the Governor denied Mutithi ward rep Njaamumo Jenaro chance to speak, Standard reports.
The MCA became angry and started demolishing the tent where the Governor sat.
The confrontation lasted for two hours, as rowdy supporters of Njaamumo joined in the fight pelting the Governor with stones.
In a video posted by KBC, the Governor is seen retreating to his seat where he is shielded by his handlers as they wait for police to calm the charged crowd.
This came even as Mombasa MCAs were fighting each other over a motion to impeach the County Speaker.
The fight entered its second day Wednesday as some MCAs demanded for the replacement of the Speaker’s mace which was destroyed in Tuesday’s fight.
